We are building the next generation of our UI foundation for CrowdStrike's platform called Kestrel. This includes new UI and backend features to help customers 'Stop the Breach' by unifying data across security domains, streamlining access to important security information, and allowing users to personalize their experience by role.

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in innovating, building, and maintaining critical backend features for the Kestrel platform. Your work will empower hundreds of UI engineers across various feature teams, enabling them to build the experience customers need to respond to security threats effectively.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop, document, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale services.
Take ownership and be accountable for deliverables.
Triage system issues, debug by analyzing the sources of issues, and assess the impact on service operations.
Mentor other web and backend engineers on feature services.
Continuously re-evaluate products to improve architecture, testing coverage, knowledge models, user experience, performance, observability, and stability.
Partner with product teams to understand needs, collaborate with PMs to document new requirements, and implement new features within our feature services.

What You’ll Need

Degree in Computer Science (or commensurate experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems).
Expertise in scaling backend systems (sharding, partitioning, scaling horizontally).
Strong desire to ship code and see it run in production.
Solid understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
Strong team player with collaboration skills.
Knowledge of engineering best practices: testing paradigms, peer code reviews, resilient architecture.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative, and iterative environment.
Skills to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality, well-tested software that integrates continuously.
